I haven't got my logo completely sorted. I haven't taken high quality of any of the products I have in stock...I haven't even setup the Web Shop side of things...but I have been laying the foundations. Having spent 35+ years as an IT Manager, setting up - literally - hundreds of websites for the businesses for whom I worked...Now is my chance to do it for myself. I could have started with a base install of WordPress, or similar, but decided to shell out a little extra to use 1&1 IONOSWebsite Builder with the eCommerce option...So far so good. I've just added the Google Analytics to the site...and am starting with this Blog Post, which - initially - will focus on the steps I am taking to get the website fully up and running.
I have been waiting nearly 4 weeks for the business account to be setup. I hadn't thought that my initial applications would be turned down because I was not "officially" registered with HMRC for Self Assessment as Self Employed...so now that all that is sorted, it should just be a matter of time.
I also investigated the prospect of taking a stall at a local "Farmers" Market in Ham, only to discover the cost! I'll have to wait until I start shifting more product before thinking about that.
The whole purpose of Brooks WoodShop is to do what I love...working with wood, Woodturning, woodworking and luthier work. I know I am never going to be able to make a fortune...or possibly even a living out of it...but I can - at least - make some pocket money to be able to feed my addiction for woodworking machinery and guitars!
Hopefully many exciting things coming along very soon...Watch this space!
