Stock and Bespoke Woodturning and Woodworking Pieces

Approximately 5 years ago I decided I needed a creative hobby to take my mind off a busy career in Information Technology.  I have always been intrigued by power tools, so it was a natural choice to get myself a lathe...and its all been downhill ever since.

Having spent the first 12 months making bowls, pens and all kinds of woodworking projects for immediate family and friends I still have a passion for making a - seemingly - ordinary block of wood into something smooth and shiny and beautiful.  I still get a buzz from the rpoject from start to - the best bit - holding the piece I have created.

I still like to keep my technology skills up to date and one of my other hobbies is digital photography and videography...so Brooks WoodShop was a natural progression for all these hobbies...and my challenge to be able to make a living in lieu of having turned my back on IT as a career!

That's where you come in.  Please take a look around my shop to see if there's anything you like the look of.  If not, contact me with your precise requirements and I will quote you for the work.  For example, I have recently produced two Cheeseboards as wedding presents with the Bride and Groom's monogrammed initials.

Although it is currently not available, there will be a section in my Shop to allow customisation work...but for the time being, please use the Contact Us page for any requirement you may have.

Sheddingham Palace Workshop

In the Summer of 2020 I started work on a workshop in my garden to house my growing collection of woodworking machinery.  My overly-large lathe was creating great dust clouds in our extension (also our utility/laundry area...so my wife was getting to the end of her tether regarding the amount of wood dust!  Having created "Sheddingham Palace" I now have a bespoke workshop, in which I can woodturn and woodwork to my hearts content...and not worry about getting wood dust on clean washing!

I still have a couple of machines I need to purchase in order to be able to create with as much flexibility as possible, but otherwise...it's full steam ahead to providing one-off woodturned or woodworking pieces.
